Commercial

All payments by direct bank transfer. Bank account details (account name, sort code and account number) required for return of deposit. 

Rates (per web site)

All agreements are with the individual making the booking and they accept full responsibility for the actions of all guests and pets during the booking without exception. All correspondence will be solely with them, unless varied at the owner’s discretion.

Entry/Exit

Entry not possible before 16.00/4pm on first day of let.

Exit by 11.00/11am on last day of let.

Late departure may be requested but can only be confirmed 24 hours before let begins. Only permissible if request does not clash with another booking.

Deposit/Booking Fee

Deposit of £250 to be paid at time of booking (This is a booking fee and damages security fee). The full cost of your holiday is due 6 weeks prior to its commencement or sooner if booked at short notice.

Deposit refundable by direct bank transfer within seven days of end of let.

Retention will be made for excessive breakages, missing items or excessive cleaning (see Dogs) Owners discretion applies.

Dogs

Dogs (maximum of 2) are welcome at Rescorla Cottage at owner’s prior discretion, meaning you must inform us, and we must acknowledge your request. They are welcome on the ground floor and in the garden.  Owners take no responsibility for escape of dogs from property or gardens. Use of stair gate is mandatory while dogs are present. Any dog related cleaning upstairs (beyond normal cleaning) or in the garden will be subject to an additional £50 deposit retention. Animal waste bags are provided and no waste (poo, bones etc) are to be left in the garden. All animal related damage, however minor, may be subject to a charge at the owner’s reasonable discretion.

Smoking

Smoking and/or vaping is strictly prohibited in Rescorla Cottage. Any evidence found in the cottage will lead to retention of full deposit and guest will not be permitted future bookings. A plant pot filled with sand will be available in the garden, but guests are expected to clear away all cigarette buts, smoking related waste themselves. If the owners need to clean up any smoking related waste, there will be a £50 deposit retention.

Barbeques

Disposable barbeques are permissible in the garden if used on the gravel driveway with the barbeque stand provided. Any use on the lawn or decking that leads to damage will result in a deposit retention of £50.

Breakages

All breakages however minor must be reported at time of departure. Reasonable wear and tear at the sole discretion of the owners is acceptable and would not normally lead to a deposit retention, particularly if it has been reported.

Returned Items

If you inadvertently take some of our property home, please get in contact with us as soon as possible and mail it back to us. We check our inventory straight after your stay and will retain a reasonable sum of your deposit if you remove items and fail to return them.

If you leave your own property in Rescorla Cottage we will contact you, to ask if you need it. If you want the item(s) returned, we will mail it you deducting the postal charge from your deposit.

Heating System

The oil-fired central heating system is programmed to keep the cottage at a comfortable temperature. You are requested not to adjust it in any way.  Hot water is programmed to be available at all times for your convenience. If evidence is found that the heating system has been adjusted in any way the owners reserve the right to retain a portion of the deposit commensurate with the adjustment in their sole discretion.

Normal Booking Duration

During Peak Season (July, August and September), bookings are as standard 16.00/4pm Saturday to 11.00/11am Saturday unless agreed at the discretion of the owner. At other times of the year bookings will be considered on a Friday – Monday basis and a Monday – Friday basis.

Beds

The property is equipped with a king-sized bed, a single bed and a roll-out (single coverts to double). While there is no reason based on design to doubt the function of the rolled-out bed, the owners accept no liability or responsibility if an adult couple damage or are injured by use of the roll-out bed when it is rolled out to double. We do not recommend or condone the use of the rolled-out bed use by an adult couple and as such use is solely at the guest’s discretion and responsibility.

Welcome Pack

When you arrive, the property will contain certain items at the owner’s discretion (such as breakfast goods, wine etc.) The owners offer no fixed commitment to the constituents of such pack, nor any responsibility for their quality. The welcome pack does not form any commitment or part of the contractual relationship between owner and guest.

Limitations of Liability.

The owners accept no liability for loss, accident or misfortune of any guest beyond our statutory liability.
